Manuel Estiarte to be inducted to Swimming Hall of Fame

 04 May 2007 - Spanish Water Polo Legend, Manuel Estiarte will be inducted to the International Swimming Hall of Fame on the 13th of May in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Estiarte, arguably the greatest player of the game, will be inducted alongside current Croatian National Team Coach, Ratko Rudic.

 From ages 18 to 40, Manuel Estiarte played in an unprecedented six Olympic Games: 1980 through 2000, winning gold and silver medals. His teams won gold and two silver medals in World Championship competition. In 1998, he was voted Best Player of the Perth World Championships. He is the all-time leading scorer in Olympic competition with over 125 goals. Over 25 years of active competition, he competed on four Spanish Club Teams: Manresa, Barcelona, Pescara and Sabadell.

 Ratko Rudic
  Radko Rudic has his 26 years of coaching span four countries in which he has been the national team coach. As an athlete, he won the silver medal on the Yugoslav Olympic team of 1980. In 1981, he began coaching under Mr. Orlich at Partizan Club. In 1983, he was appointed Yugoslav junior coach and advanced to Olympic coach in 1984, where his team won the gold medal. He coached the team to a second gold medal in 1988 and won the World Championship gold medal in the between years of 1986 in Madrid. In 1989, he moved to Italy to coach a team that had not won an Olympic medal since 1976. Under his coaching, the team won the gold medal in 1992 and bronze medal in 1996. In 2000, he became the USA National Team coach for a few years. Now he coaches the National Team of Croatia, which won the recent World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.
