Position Assistant Coach - Water Polo (Men's Team) Location Manchester Closing Date  07 December 2007 Salary  £25,075 to £32,245 per annum (plus contributory pension scheme) Type of Contract    Full Time, All Hours contract Job Description British Swimming is the National Governing Body for Swimming and its associated disciplines in Great Britain, with its headquarters situated in the centre of Loughborough. Applications are invited for the exciting new post of Assistant Coach - Water Polo (Men’s team), reporting to the National Performance Director for Water Polo. The main focus of the role is to assist in the production of a detailed competition framework and training programme, and monitor and evaluate them to ensure continuous professional development and Long Term Athlete Development. You will be responsible for assisting in the coaching of the athletes and other coaches to ensure the Water Polo standards are adhered to and a uniformed approach with the national programme is adopted. The successful candidate must have a recognised Water Polo coaching qualification or equivalent and have proven experience of a high level of domestic/international coaching. An understanding of the British Water Polo’s Long Term Athlete Development framework and of the technical and tactical requirements is also essential. Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be liaising with people at all levels. The successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
