2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China
The draw has been announced for water polo competition at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. The USA women's team, currently ranked number one in the world has been slotted into the top spot of group A joined by 2004 Gold Medalist Italy, Russia, and the host country China. In the other bracket lies second ranked Australia along with Greece, Hungary and the Netherlands.

As for the men they are slotted third in group B joined by Serbia, Croatia, the host China, Italy, and Germany. Group A contains Spain, Australia, 2004 Gold Medalist Hungary, Montenegro, Greece, and Canada. Water polo competition at the Olympic Games will commence for the men on August 10 and for the women on August 11.
