A comic arrival for Hungary, rain starting to pour in the middle of the game...
Well, it was a funny start for Hungary: 1) Team arrived okay to Bilbao... unlike their baggages (that's the "French Non-connection"); 2) Teams were introduced without national anthems... but the funny part was: Zoltan Szecsi's name was pronounced as Zoltan Sexy (I don't understand why only the Hungarian team laughed about it... :) And the game itself... SPAIN-HUNGARY 4:8 (2:4, 1:1, 1:3, 0:0) Well it started with attacks resulted in goal... Perez from center, than Tamas Molnar, than Perrone and Gabor Kis (2:2). Hungary well-defended a Spain man-up attack, than Denes Varga hinted a very cheeky one at the end of a HUN man-up (2:3). Before the end of the 1st quarter Hungary gone away by to goals, thanks to Norbert Madaras (2:4). Minguell reduced the difference in the beginning of 2nd quarter, than Denes Varga took back the Hungarian lead, yet again with a cheeky goal (3:5). In the beginning of the 3rd quarter Marton Szivos took away the ball, than Rajmund Fodor's shot was slipped in off the goalie's hand (3:6). Gergely Kiss and Piralkov made their points from both parts (4:7). Tibor Benedek shots a big one (4:8). Before the end Zoltan Szecsi saves a Spanish hint. In the last quarter, Spain took the ball, than Hungary blocked their center play. Minguell scores a big goal from free shot, but referees overrule it, as it was within the not allowed distance. Rain started to pour... Denes Varga shots above and into the goalie third time. Then a double man-up, with no score, and thanks to a long ball pass from Spain, they can't score their action goal. Daniel Varga makes a dodgy free shot, but the ball flies aside. The last two moments of the game: Tibor Benedek's shot is saved by the goalie, and Zoltan Szecsi saves a big shot. Referees: Vuletic (CRO), Tulga (TUR) HUNGARY: N. Madaras 1, Denes Varga 2 , G. Kiss 1, T. Benedek 1, R. Fodor 1, Gabor Kis 1, T. Molnar 1. SUMM: Hungary didn't play any games for 10 days, and their play cleary said it. Although defense was more than good, but there were mistakes in the attacks. They have today for rest day and work on a better play. And Spain... where they only played as they're the hosts... and tried to show that they wont let themselves against Hungary. All they want is to get over with this prelim and finally got their holiday... they're not motivated at all to be in the SF8 in Berlin. The first game of yesterday's 2nd prelims: RUS-ROU 6-7 (3:1, 1:1, 2:2, 0:3) Today's games: 18:30 - ESP-RUS / 20:00 ROU-CRO
