Roumania gained strong confidence of his winning perfomance against Croatia... and it only lasted until they met Hungary in the pool yesterday.
ROUMANIA-HUNGARY 6:17 (1:7, 3:3, 1:4, 1:3) It's hard to say (from Roumanian perspective) but the whole game was decided in the 1st quarter. Like some shooting festival: Daniel Varga, Tamas Molnar, Gergely Kiss (excellent dodging and scoring into the long corner), Denes Varga - twice in a row (second shot from lying on the surface, and scoring aside two blocking hands), Norbert Hosnyanszky - twice in a row. And that was only the 1st quarter. After the weak performance in the first, Roumania started to crave up: Kalman Kadar (strong shot, and a score with the help of the goal post), Radu (also with the help of goal post), then Gergely Kiss and Norbert Hosnyanszky replies (3:10), and a score for Roumania delievered by Dunca (4:10). From the 3rd quarter Hungary played a bit flappy, swimming up and down, than Csaba Kiss scores a nice one, and Peter Biros lets it from the far off (4:12). Norbert Madaras twice in a row (4:14) and a score from Radu closes the quarter (5:14) Final quarter: Norbert Madaras shots the ball into the long corner, then Kalman Kadar replies (6:15). Hungary is offered a penalty shot, executed by Peter Biros (6:16). And the final goal from man-up, scored by Csaba Kiss (6:17) SUMM: It wasn't what any of the two team expected. Hungary was preparing a lot more tougher and playing better Roumania. And Roumania... well, they probably thought that they can run Hungary hard. Hungary was great in defense (please stand up, for Laszlo Baksa, the young "rookie" goalie, who was brilliant... yet again!:), attacks were very well played, of course there were some unnecessary mistakes, but all together, pretty nice, really Hungarian, and getting better and better Hungarian team game. By the way yesterday was "left-hand" players game as well for Hungary. And what the Hungarian team thought about the game... well, almost all of them said, Roumania is a lot better than beating them by 11 goals. They're the team who can surprise any opponent team if they're not fully prepared. They improved a lot, and they have many good players, I'm sure they will make progress soon. Roumania - scorers Radu 2, Iosep 1, Dunca 1, Kadar 2. Hungary - scorers: Daniel Varga 1, N. Madaras 3, Denes Varga 2, N. Hosnyanszky 3, G. Kiss 2, Cs. Kiss 3, P. Biros 2, T. Molnar 1 Currently, Hungary plays against Croatia... tougher game than previous ones. |
