Three weeks after the tournament victory at the Olympic qualificiers a
real “Super Saturday” was contested in the German Men´s League. In the
championship round of the Deutsche Wasserball-Liga Germany´s
top four were facing each other, including the top match between the
two unbeaten teams of SSV Esslingen and the reigning national champion
Wasserfreunde Spandau 04. Furthermore the teams ranking fifth to eight
played some of the key matches for the fifth place, and in the
relegation round the bottom-ranking teams of SSF Aegir 07 Uerdingen and
SC Hellas-99 Hildesheim were facing each other.
