Not a goal-rich game, but very tough… in Eger’s home pool with full house. + news on Denes Kemeny's 3-day-training-camp for the "National Team".
EGER-VASAS 6-5 (2-0, 1-2, 2-1, 1-2) An absolutely top mood in the pool… fans of Eger and Vasas were practically on fire when the game started. But it took almost 6 minutes for the first score… by Balazs Nyeki. By the end of the quarter Peter Biros confirmed the lead, scoring from the right (2:0). Daniel Varga is getting better and better after his shoulder operation, and he proved that by modifying the current result with a score in man-up (2:1), but Gabor Hegedus restored the two goal difference (3:1). Although Marton Toth scored, before the big-break Eger still had the lead (3:2). In the 3rd quarter, Vasas equalized by Daniel Varga in man-up (3:3), but Eger showed his merits in scoring man-up as well… in this quarter their man-up statistics were 2/2 (executed by Peter Biros, and Aaron Feltham). Eger turned to the final quarter with 5:2. In the final quarter, Vasas proved that their good in action goals as well… Robert Kovacs scored when the attack time was up. With Daniel Varga’s penalty Vasas equalized the result (5:5)… but Eger replied with Gyorgy Csaszar scoring in man-up. In the final 1,5 minutes… Vasas was running after the result… just like during the whole game. The final Vasas score attempt by David Heinrich was pushed to the goal-post by Zoltan Szecsi. SUMM: If one knows the Hungarian League, cannot expect any easy game when it’s about Eger… or Vasas. It was a classic waterpolo game, with tough defense, but more punctual shots from Eger. Zoltan Szecsi defended like a top goalie… Vasas had problems to find gaps in Eger’s defense. Eger deserved to win… and they really wanted to win. And Vasas… they were striving after the result during the whole game… with Daniel Varga in the lead. An Eger keeps their form (getting better and better)… being pretty much effective in man-ups (which is not a too common thing in Hungarian League). Scorers: Eger: P. Biros 2, A. Feltham 1, B. Nyeki 1, Gy. Csaszar 1, G. Hegedus 1 Vasas: Daniel Varga 3, R. Kovacs 1, M. Toth 1 Man-ups: 11/5, 8/3 Penalty: -, 1/1 Yellow card: Kalman Toth (Eger) – 29. min. Excluded with substitution: Zsolt Varga II.
