Hungarian League - 4th Final - We have the Champion | Hungarian League - 4th Final - We have the Champion |
|
Last time it happened it was 1989. Until now, they have lost 13 finals... but know they did... Vasas is the Hungarian Champion. (in my opinion that was the first season when they deserved). And it was really a FINAL... all finals should have been like this... because max. 1 goal difference is reasonable. Both teams went head-by-head, none of them could really take the lead... Strong defense, nice goals, tough man-to-man game, and couple of defendable goals on both sides. In Honved, Tamas Molnar was brilliant scoring 3 goals. On the other side Daniel Varga had the taste of scoring goals (he scored 4). I liked Dani's 4th goal: past Tibor Benedek's blocking hand, not even seeing where he shoots). More over... Honved deserves a fair-play prize: as Adam Steinmetz suffers from hernia in the neck, therefor all Honved center players tried to be careful with thim. (That was the first final game Adam played since he was diagnosied with his illness). Honved lost the title but with head abaove, like all professional sports men should do. And the most beautiful moments: 1. Honved players congratulating to Vasas... smiling, with acknowledgment. 2. Barnabas Steinmetz crying when Viktor Nagy received the Janos Steinmetz Cup for Best Goalkeeper. The Steinmetz's brothers suddenly and tragically lost their father in May 2007. He wasn't given the chance what he wanted most: see both his sons winning the Hungarian League. It was a quality final, and Vasas deserved to win. Now we focus on the National Team... adn then the next season of the Hungarian League with players changing clubs. So stay tune! |
