As usual the Men´s and Women´s “Final Four“ of the German cup competition will be held this weekend as joint event, taking place in Brambauer again As usual the Men´s and Women´s “Final Four“ of the German cup competition will be held this weekend as joint event. The German waterpolo fans have also found their “Wembley” for at least three years, as the 2006, 2007 and 2008 event is taking place in Brambauer, a suburb of the Westphalian city of Lünen near Dortmund. It will be the most important national event in Germany again.

The men´s competition is expected to see a final game already in the semi-finals; here the reigning title-holders of Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 and inaugural winner Amateur SC Duisburg will already face each other. Both teams will also play for this year´s national title in a “best of five” series. In the women´s competition the two current top teams SV Blau-Weiß Bochum and SV Bayer 08 Uerdingen are expected to face each other in the final game, as they already did in 2005 and 2006.

The Sunday games will already see an international match of the men´s youth teams from Germany and the Netherlands in the age group 1991 and 1992. After the recent age groups changes in international waterpolo these players will already be in action at next year´s junior championships.
