Yesterday 3 more games were held in Szeged: Oradea-Honved, Szeged-Vasas, Mladost Zagreb-Jug Dubrovnik... And the results are...
ORADEA-HONVED 7:12 (2:3, 0:2, 4:4, 1:3) At the beginning of the game, Honved quickly took the lead by 3 goals (Miklos Gor-Nagy, Marton Szivos, Gergely Kiss). The team of Oradea clung back with efforts, but Honved scored 2 more goals. The "goal-shower" of the 3rd quarter probably happened because both teams realized the success of Honved and without any real stress Honved practiced its new tactical elements. Oradea got tired for the 4th quarter. I should highlight Marton Szivos's game who moved around very good and scored 3. And it was also enjoyable as the new CK, Gergely Kiss managed team mates and grew up for his new responsibility. SZEGED-VASAS 11:13 (3:3, 3:3, 3:3, 2:4) It was a real prestige game, as none of the teams took it half-hearted. Szeged had the better start, but the 2 goal lead scored by Mate Balatoni was equalized by Robert Kovacs scoring 2. From this point, it was an equalized game - you can tell that from the first 3 quarter results (3:3). Unfortunately Szeged got tired for the 4th, and Denes Varga together with David Heinrich made a 4 goals lead, and Szeged could do nothing but reduce this difference. MLADOST ZAGREB-JUG DUBROVNIK 12-14 (2:3, 5:2, 1:3, 4:6) Croatian style game: bloody (sometimes word-perfect), varied, full of excitment, driving. Jug had the better start, but in the 2nd quarter Mladost had the game. The silver medalist of Euro League got his play together and equalized for the end of the quarter, and made its winning clear in the 4th. We could even say that both so far unbeaten teams game was won by their goalies. Jug deserved to win. Standings after the 1st Day: 1. JUG DUBROVNIK (4 points) 24-21 2. HONVED (2 points) 21-17 3. VASAS (2 points) 21-20 4. SZEGED (2 points) 18-17 5. MLADOST ZAGREB (2 points) 21-22 6. ORADEA (0 point) 11-19 The Cup continues the weekend so stay tune for more news on Saturday and Sunday games. |
