HUN-SVK - Friendly game with no surprise

Well, everybody prepares for the Olympics in his own way... The Slovaks' for example train for the European Olympic Qualification Tournament that will be held in Bratislava in September 2007. As Hungary prepares for FINA Word League Super Final, they invited the Slovak Team for a friendly game... that resulted a waterpolo festival, and entertaining waterpolo fans.

HUNGARY-SLOVAKIA 17:5 (3:1, 8:1, 2:1, 4:2)

Okay... it's hard to say, but it's obvious... the teams are not on the same level. The Slovaks have a new team (young ones), and new head coach (old one:).

The game was rather about the beauty of the waterpolo... beautiful goals, pretty nice ball stealings and cheering crowd. That's waterpolo festival in Hungarian style:)

Denes Kemeny said that it'd been clearly seen that it has been quite some time his players didn't play "live and real matches", and the mistakes and faults during this game were rather about individual faults than complet team/attack/defense ones.

The MVP of the game was Daniel Varga (scoring 2) - and I keep thinking why... As Csaba Kiss who scored 3 beauty ones, was much more better. (Well, Tamas Farago's not an objective judge when it comes to choose MVP... I hope that's reason). I'm really happy for Marton Szivos 2 elegant scores (I love when a player shoots and scores without rising from the water... practically simply throwing the ball with a negligent shoulder move:)... The same is true for Denes Varga... 2 nice, very cool and "I don't care" kind of goals.

Tamas Molnar replaced Peter Biros in the "swimming-away-and catch-me-if-you-can". Gabor Kis who scored first, was the right man in right place and right time to score a clear shot in the nest (and not into the goalie which was a routine for Hungary for quite a some time).

Overall: it was rather entertainment. You're not cleverer about Hungary or Slovakia after this game. Well I'm not any smarter about Slovakia... they're slow in swimming up for attack, they loose the ball too easy, but they are trying to play some really nice figures in attack... now they should work more on scoring, because they were mostly shooting beside the goalposts. They're at the beginning of preparation for the Qualifation Tournament, but they can be better... they just have to work more and harder for that.

What you saw from Hungary wasn't a new thing... although they're working on new figures e.g. for man-ups, but they still play what they can. Strong in defense, effective in attacks, they know each other pretty well, they concentrated. They will play with Slovakia a training match this week, then on 6th August they fly to Berlin (JUST LIKE ME!:) for the World League SF8.
