The other Sunday big-game at Eger... Practically the usual: if you meet Szeged, beware of their defense.
1. quarter:
1st Eger attack, and Csaba Kiss scores from the right. Szeged gets man-up, but Zoltan Szecsi defends. Another Eger man-up and another score by Peter Biros. Tamas Varga tries to shot, but Szecsi defends. 2 minutes before the quarter ends, another big defense from Szecsi – a dangerous left angle shot from Laszlo Weszelovszky. Both Szecsi and Biros are excluded (big whistle chorus presented by the audience) and Weszelovszky easily scores in a double man-up.
2. quarter: Szeged grabs the ball and attacks. A far shot from Weszelovszky, but it’s a dessert for Szecsi. Eger gets man-up, but Gabor Kis draws the ball aside the goalpost. Korolija tries to twist in center, but couldn’t do much with Gabor Kis, a weak shot and easy grab for Szecsi. Bad ball pass in center by Biros, and Szeged gets the ball. But Korolija excluded (3rd personal fault) and Biros gets a precise ball from Csaba Kiss and hits the corner. Laszlo Baksa presents his goalie skills – a huge shot from Szabolcs Binder, but Baksa grabs it. Half-pool pass for Zsolt Varga II., who hits the left corner.
3. quarter: Both teams fighting hard. Tamas Varga sneaks into center position and confidently executing the score. Both Decker and Biros misses the shot. Szeged asks for time-out, but couldn’t manage the score. Decker jumps out from defense and gets the ball, a bit of a ramble, and Eger gets penalty (executed by Biros). 2 minutes before the end of quarter Zsolt Varga II. scores.
4. quarter: Varga II. undertakes shot in center, and the ball leaps through goal line. Peter Varga scores for Szeged’s sake. Less than for minutes remaining time – Eger time-out, then they make clear position for Balazs Nyeki, who hits the right low corner. Eger gets another penalty shot, and Biros doesn’t miss it. 2 minutes left – Weszelovszky with a loosen wrist movement tricks Szecsi and scores into the left. Adam Decker answers scoring from around 6-7 meters. Just when the horn blows, Monostori reduces the goal difference.
