Yesterday - Hutt, Maranui and Northsport all came away with wins during todays national league round. Hutt beating Waitakere Blue Devils 8-4 then going down to the NorthSport Wizards 17 -6 in Auckland. While Maranui beat Turanga Taniwhas in Rotorua 18 -10. Hutt started out their Game vs the Devils going up 4-1 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was scoreless and then the Devils scored Two goals early in the third to only allow the Heat to be up by one goal 4-3. It wasnt until the end of the third which saw the heat bang in two late goals to lead 6-3 going into the fourth quarter.The Devils scored First in the Quarter, The heat then Scored two more goals to win the game 8-4 and deny the Devils a bonus point. Heats Eamon Lui Top Scored with 3 goals Maranui maintained their late run towards the semis of the National Mens Championships with an 18-10 win over Tauranga Taniwhas. Maranui Started out the game going out to 5-3 lead in the first quarter and by half time they were up 8-6, but Maranui come out in the third quarter with Guns firing to take the third quarter to a 13-7 lead. Both the Taniwhas and Mudcrabs played an attacking game in the final quarter that saw the final score to be 18-10. Ryan Wilkinson High scored with 4 goals for Maranui and Alex Broome also scored 4 goals for Tauranga. Maranui's win sees them move up the points closer to Harbour City and Hutt. Northsport went out and beat the Hutt Heat 17-6 at tonights match in Auckland. It was a diffnatly a different game from when the last time these 2 teams meet when Hutt only went down 8-9 to Northsport in Lower Hutt. Although this time Northsport played a very controlled match from taking the first quarter 4-0 first and then by Half time leading 9-0. It wasnt until the second half when the heat scored, firing up six goals compared to NorthSports 8 goals. Chris Broome led the way with 4 goals.
